49 Hogs, 22,000 Meals, One Powerful Community Partnership
Through our partnership with local food banks, TECO is helping provide high-quality protein to those in need while also supporting youth agriculture programs.
In 2025, TECO continued its support of youth agriculture by participating in local agricultural auctions, purchasing 49 hogs in total. That investment recognizes the dedication and effort of 4-H and FFA students while creating benefits that extend well beyond auction day. Through partnerships with local processors, the hogs were transformed into high-quality meat and donated to Feeding Tampa Bay, helping provide nutritious food to families throughout Pasco, Polk and Hillsborough counties.
Traditionally, food pantries have offered non-perishable items. However, with Feeding Tampa Bay’s advanced operations, we can now provide fresh, locally raised meat. Last year alone, the hogs purchased by TECO produced more than 7,000 pounds of processed pork and provided almost 22,000 meals to individuals and families in need.
Our participation in auctions and partnership with Feeding Tampa Bay is illustrative of our commitment to our community. With a single purchase, we’re investing in youth and education, supporting wellness and well-being, and helping spark growth and innovation.
